Established in 2016 to advance economic and community prosperity in the Indiana Uplands region, Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI) is implementing an education and workforce plan and a regional opportunity fund for quality-of-place investments in an 11-county area. In 2016, Lilly Endowment Inc. awarded three grants totaling $42 million to ROI's

The Southern Indiana Development Commission (SIDC) is a voluntary organization of local government. SIDC provides assistance with both community and economic development initiatives.
SIDC offers a wide variety of services including housing, transportation, brownfields and rural transit.
