Greene County Economic Development Corporation's (GCEDC) mission is to enhance the quality of life for Greene County, Indiana residents by fostering an environment that will create and retain jobs, increase the tax base and promote economic growth.
GCEDC was formed when the need for a professionally organized economic development operation was recognized. Purdue University initially helped to fund GCEDC; with support from the county, GCEDC incorporated in 1989. GCEDC became the agency responsible for initiating economic development activities on behalf of Greene County. GCEDC is a private, not-for-profit organization run by a thirteen-member board of directors.
