Greene County has been described as a great little piece of America with a special feel, a place that most wouldn't believe still existed. Kerry Conway of the Greene County Community Foundation said, "I live at the bottom of a karsts hillside with 3 acres of land. I am surrounded by stone walking paths and I start my day with my morning coffee and a walk; it's wonderful to be surrounded by this kind of beauty." This Mayberry of the Midwest is nothing short of refreshing. Centrally located between wonderful neighboring counties, Greene County is culturally, educationally, and historically prominent.
For twenty-nine years Greene County has had the Roy Clark and Friends Community Festival which includes a Roy Clark and Friends show, a celebrity dinner at the Greene County Shrine Club, and a two-day Phil Harris Golf Tournament.
